Looking to book a private class or event? We do that! Minimum 4 people per class/event. 

Here are some of the classes we offer.... 

  Jewellery Making

 Basic Beading

$20 (materials included) - single class

Don't be fooled by the name, this class isn't just for beginners - even seasoned jewellery makers will learn a thing or two!! This class is great for tips and tricks on making quality jewellery that you'll be proud to say you made!
You will be making a necklace, a bracelet and a pair of earrings (all supplies included in the lesson fee) over the 3 hour lesson. Tools to be provided for the lesson. (Min - Max: 3 - 7 students)

Please note: This lesson is a pre-requisite to most of the intermediate beading/jewellery making classes!

 Simple Wire Wrapped Loops

$30 (materials included) - single class

This class is for those of you looking to make high quality, long lasting and unique jewellery.  You will be perfecting the essential wrapped loop to create a bracelet and if time allows, earwires and headpins from wire for matching earrings!  Take what you've learned and explore the possibilities with sterling wire or coloured Artistic Wire!  (Min - Max: 3 - 7 students)

Please note: This class takes a bit of dexterity, so experience using tools is important - beginners should take the basic class first!

 Byzantine Chain Maille

$30 (materials included) - single class

You've probably seen those bracelets made of hundreds of jumprings, woven together in patterns - but how do you do it?!

In this class, you will create a bracelet in the Byzantine chain maille weave using silver plated or colourful, lightweight aluminum jumprings.  If time allows, you can make matching earrings! All supplies included in the lesson fee and tools to be provided - no need to bring anything! (Min - Max: 3 - 6 students)

Please note:This lesson is best for those who have used some jewellery tools before!

 

 Traditional Pearl Knotting

$40 (supplies & freshwater pearls included)

You'll notice on high-end and vintage pearls that each bead is individually knotted onto silk to create a strong, flowing piece of jewellery.  Learn this timeless technique with your choice of freshwater pearls and genuine silk - Create an instant heirloom in one evening!

(if you have your own pearls, simply pay $30 for the class for instruction and supplies)

 Woven Beaded Beads

$30 (materials included)

In this class, you will learn to create 2 different types of woven beads WITH beads!  You will make enough beads to put together either a bracelet or a pendant/earrings set and all supplies are included in the class fee. (min 3 students, max 6)

 Round Wire Fret Bracelet

$30 (materials included)

In this class, you will learn how to wrap round wires into a bangle in a style that looks like a guitar fret!  You can also add Swarovski birthstone beads if you choose (included) or upgrade to sterling silver if you're feeling brave (additional fee).  (Min 3 students, Max 6)

 

 Hemp Macrame

$20 (materials included)

Learn macrame knots to create a bracelet and keychain using colourful hemp and beads! This lesson is suitable for our younger friends but can be difficult for children under 10.  This is the technique you see used in the popular Shamballa bracelets! (Min 3 students, Max 6)

 

 Twinkle Necklace

$40 (materials included)

Take on a beautiful crystal necklace project to wow your friends!
You will be making this 'twinkle' necklace in a choice of 5 different colour combinations using genuine Swarovski Crystals and satin silver beading wire (all supplies included in the lesson fee).  (Min - Max: 3 - 8 students)
Please note: You must be experienced in crimping with crimping pliers for this class!!

 Intro to Metals (Jewellery) #1

$50 (materials included) 

Learn the basics of metalsmithing in our equipped studio!

Intro #1 teaches you the concepts of sawing, hammering, texturing and filing to create a one-of-a-kind pendant!  
The class is 3 hours and ALL supplies are included for the class fee.  Min 2 students, Max 4.

** Please note, you must arrive 20 minutes before your first class for a safety orientation OR book another time ahead of your class to do it.

 

 Intro to Metals (Jewellery)  #2

$50 (materials included) 
Prerequisite: Studio - Intro #1

Intro #2 builds on the concepts you learning in Basic #1 - sawing, hammering, texturing and filing.  In this class, we will also explore interior space cutting, doming and high polish finishing!  You will create a pendant or, depending on your chosen design, a pair of earrings.  
The class is 3 hours and ALL supplies are included for the class fee.  Min 2 students, Max 4.

** Please note, you do not need to arrive early for another safety orientation - once you have taken it with your first class, you're good to go!  New safety concepts will be introduced within your classes.

 

 Intro to Metals (Jewellery)  #3

$50 (materials included) 
Prerequisite: Studio - Intro #1-2

Intro #3 teaches you the concepts of cold connections (riveting) - attaching metal together without the flame or solder.  You will use the previously learned skills of hammering, texturing, filing, piercing and polishing to create a one-of-a-kind pendant! 
The class is 3 hours and ALL supplies are included for the class fee.  Min 2 students, Max 4.

 

 Intro to Metals (Jewellery)  #4

$50 (materials included) 
Prerequisite: Studio - Intro #1-3

Intro #4 is your first step in the world of soldering! You will use the previously learned skills of hammering, texturing, filing, piercing and polishing to create your very own ring!  Please note that Basic classes #'s 1-3 are  pre-requisites for this class - everyone would like to know how to solder, but you must know how to create and finish the pieces that you make!

The class is 3 hours and ALL supplies are included for the class fee.  Min 2 students, Max 4.

 

 

  Papercrafting

 Mixed Media Canvas

$15-25 (materials included)

Using a canvas with mixed media, paper, glue, paints, stencils, stamps, rub-ons, printed words and more; create a one-of-a-kind piece in this workshop! Junior classes use an 8x10 canvas, adult classes use a 10x14 canvas. (Min - Max: 3 - 5 students)

 2 Page Scrapbook Layout

$20-$30 (materials included)

​This class is typically two hours and we create a two-page scrapbook layout complete with embellishments! All classes and samples are posted on our Facebook site as we release new projects.  (Min - Max: 3 - 5 students)

 Card Classes

$20-$25 (materials included)

Typically card classes are two hours and we make 3 cards using various stamps and techniques for all different occasions.  All classes and samples are posted on our Facebook site as we release new projects.  (Min - Max: 3 - 5 students)

 

 Technique Tuesdays

$20-$25 (materials included)

These two hour classes are a perfect way to use different products. Crystal covers various techniques using different mediums to create unique card fronts. Learn how to heat emboss, stamp, ink, use Tim Holtz Distress products and other mixed media products from various lines. All classes and samples are posted on our Facebook site as we release new projects.  (Min - Max: 3 - 5 students)

 

 Photo Folios & Chipboard Albums

$25-$60 (materials included)

Learn how to make albums from scratch such as travel journals, photo album books and more!  Projects are sometimes a single class or a 2-4 class project. All classes and samples are posted on our Facebook site as we release new projects.  (Min - Max: 3 - 5 students)

 

 Birthday Parties / Private Youth Gatherings

$12-15 each child (materials included)

We offer youth activities and birthday parties for all ages!  The cost is generally $12-15 per child (depending on the activity) and we ask for a minimum of 5 children to a max of 8 for a private booking.  We allot 2 hours per party/class – 1 hour 45 minutes for the activity plus 15 minutes for clean up and parent pick up. 

  For the jewellery-making party, they get to make a necklace, a bracelet and a pair of earrings (clip-ons provided for those who need them) using a selection of hundreds of beads laid out. 

  For a paper-crafting party, we have a variety of options including individual mini-albums, mixed media ‘She Art’ and more.  We can determine the best option based on the age range and interests of the children!

  The timing is flexible, pick a 2 hour time slot and we will check availability.  If you want to do a weekend, we are available most times on Saturdays or Sundays.

 

 March Break

$16 each class (materials included) 

Your kids see you making all of these wonderful projects and they want to learn too! Bring them to Rock Paper Scissors over the March Break to learn some fun and inexpensive techniques in jewellery making. Each class is $16 and includes ALL materials! E-mail (rockpaperfred@gmail.com) or Facebook Message us to book your child as there are limited spaces. These activities are intended for children ages 9 and up. All are suitable for both girls AND boys (though Memory Wire includes earrings that they often make for family or friends).

 Hemp Macrame

* Learn macrame knots to create a bracelet and keychain using colourful hemp and beads! This lesson can be difficult for children under 10.

 Memory Wire Mayhem

* Learn how to use memory wire in a variety of styles to create bracelets and necklaces. You will get to choose from hundreds of beads so the possibilities are endless!

 Polymer Clay Creations

* Using polymer clay (Sculpey, similar to Fimo) you will learn how to make your own beads and pendants - we'll use some marbling techniques and surface designs!

 Paper Beads

* Learn the age old techniques of rolling discarded magazines and newspapers into beautiful coloured beads!

 

  Class Policies

​​- Should a session be postponed due to weather, instructor illness or extenuating circumstances, all class deposits will be applied to the same class at a later date or a future course of choice - please ensure we have your contact info!

- If you cannot attend, please give notice the day before a class so those on the waiting list can be notified of an available space

- Most classes have a minimum number of required students (booked by the studio) and a maximum that can be accommodated comfortably. If class numbers are too low, you may be contacted to book again

- No-shows without prior arrangements will forfeit their deposit. After 3 such incidents, one may no longer book classes as it has prevented others from getting the opportunity to sign up - booking reserves seats that no others can take!
